Summary:
This paper proposes a signal detection method based on rotation coordinates transform for image sensor communication (ISC) using a propeller LED transmitter (P-Tx). The P-Tx produces light trails by rotating blinking LEDs to increase the signal reception area and improve the data rate. Since LEDs are rotated with the propeller, the receiver camera captures light trails in the circle shape. To detect the circle-shaped light trails in the captured image, the rotation center and the radius must be measured precisely. This paper proposes a detection method for circle-shaped light trails signal detection. This method converts light trails captured in the pixel coordinates to the rotation coordinates by transforming coordinate systems twice. After the transformation, light trails are converted into line segments. The experimental results reveal that the proposed method can accurately detect the signal LEDs' coordinates even with certain deviations in the rotation center's measurement.
