Summary:
The dynamic range of image sensors is limited due to the capacitance of photodiode and the nonlinearity of the system response function. In this paper, the high dynamic range image reconstruction algorithm using multiple images is proposed. The proposed algorithm simultaneously enhances dynamic range and estimates the imaging system's response function. The image acquisition process including limited dynamic range is modelled. With the observation model, the linear least squares estimates the response function of the imaging system as well as the single high dynamic range image are obtained.
