Summary:
Double loop antennas in walk?through gate arrangement are designed to improve the communication performance in various tag orientations of the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system operating at the Low Frequency (LF) band (125 kHz and 134.2 kHz). The antenna gate is shifted to avoid cancellation of magnetic fields between two gates, and to improve the magnetic?field distribution. This antenna is also optimized by the Genetic Algorithm (GA), and the percentage of volume of magnetic field intensity is used as a figure of merit. The prototype antenna was fabricated and measured to confirm the antenna performance in the LF-RFID system.
