Summary:
A novel voltage beam-scanning leaky-wave antenna, consisting of an array of traveling-wave resonant particle by metal ring resonator with variable capacitance and uni-lateral component is proposed, analyzed, and measured. In contrast to ferrite-based leaky-wave antenna, this antenna does not require a biasing magnet but only an bias voltage for the FETs, and beam steering voltage for varactor diodes. The simulation result exhibits clear full-space beam scanning at 7 GHz, and its properties are examined by prototype antenna structure.
