This paper investigates adjacent-channel interference (ACI) influence on the asynchronous OFDM/FBMC systems, under multipath fading channels. FBMC inhibits out-of-band (OOB) radiation more than OFDM, by subcarrier-wise filtering. This results in ACI reduction, while causing inter-symbol interference (ISI) and inter-carrier interference (ICI) under multipath fading channels. Here, we evaluate the BER performance of asynchronous OFDM and FBMC systems, considering the ACI and multipath fading, using computer simulations.
