Summary:
This paper proposes a scheme to evaluate the impact of strategies against cascading failures in power networks. Specifically, we evaluate the impact of a model strategy for stopping power to users before a cascading failure reaches its final stage. We call such a strategy that takes action during the failure an “ongoing strategy” to distinguish it from preset strategies in place before the failure. Numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of our scheme.
