Summary:
Femto-cell technologies have been successfully used to extend the cellular network capabilities by providing a better coverage and noticeable less power consumption. However, there are some factors that threat the quality of service of the Femto-cells. One of them is that the frequency to be assigned to the Femto-cell shall avoid the interference which in return will produce less Quality Of Service (QoS). This paper discusses a simpler method to assign the frequency to a designated Femto-cell efficiently in which it will prevent the interference as it also studies the traffic intensity and the supported user graphs after implementing the scheme. The results shown in the Graphical User Interface (GUI) output for the purpose of concept proving, Matlab simulation software and GSM900 will be used as a simple method in this paper successfully assigns the frequency to the Femto-cell when it is the first one to be initiated and when it is a duplicate at the same location. Thus, it provides a better performance of the cellular systems when implementing the technology of the Femto-cell in the system to optimize the frequency spectrum.
