Summary:
This paper presents the polarization effect on the specific absorption rate (SAR) homogeneity over different cells for in vitro millimeter-wave (mmWave) exposure experiments. For numerical modeling of a novel three dimensional (3D) culture cell experiment, an Insert model containing a skin cell layer was adopted along with a conventional 35 mm Petri dish. Various exposure scenarios including different polarization angles were considered and the simulations were performed based on the finite element method (FEM). The SAR results reveal that the polarization has a significant effect on the cell SARs across multiple Petri dishes.
