Multiband Dipole Antenna with Reflector Comprising Additional Reflector Composed of FSS

Summary:
When considering multi-band dipole antenna with reflector (DAR) using multi-band resonant dipole element, radiation pattern is distorted due to the difference of the electrical distance between the dipole element and the reflector. To solve the problem, this paper proposes multi-band DAR comprising additional reflector composed of FSS (Frequency Selective Surface) designed for high frequency bands. Radiation pattern at 850MHz and 4GHz are investigated and the effectiveness of the proposed configuration is shown by FDTD calculation.
