Summary:
In many peer-to-peer content distribution systems, queries for content are transmitted regardless of physical network topology. This mechanism results in content transfer along long paths on the Internet. Redundant long paths unnecessarily consume network resources. To solve this problem, the authors had previously proposed a system in which clusters were constructed on multiple logical layers. In this study, the authors analyze criteria with respect to content popularity rates in order to switch the clusters on the basis of several simulation results.
