Summary:
IoT nodes, widely used in domains such as industry, energy, homes, and ocean monitoring, typically comprise sensing instruments, communication links, computing nodes, and applications. Initially, these nodes were developed as isolated solutions for each domain, lacking information exchange, resulting in challenges in integrating queries across heterogeneous IoT node resources. To solve this problem, this paper proposed a sensor data retrieval architecture (SDRA) that manages multiple heterogeneous IoT node resources through metadata integration, facilitating data retrieval in heterogeneous environments. Within SDRA, IoT nodes collect, store, and utilize data related to IoT entities. Metadata retrieval information is uploaded to a metadata server, enabling users to query the data based on the provided metadata. Query tasks are then offloaded to the edge of IoT nodes near the data source for efficient execution. Finally, we evaluated the performance of SDRA and verified its feasibility and efficiency in executing queries from IoT nodes.
