Summary:
Some SSVEP-based VR-BCI systems have been proposed for people with physical disabilities. However, a controlled target of conventional VR-BCI systems does not include an avatar in VR space. In this paper, we investigate the basis of SSVEP based VR-BCI to control an avatar in VR space. The transparent visual stimulus is used to evoke the control operation via EEG data. The performance of the proposed VR-BCI is evaluated using the ITR and the discrimination rate of SSVEP. We show an effect of a combination of reference data for CCA and the passband of the bandpass filter applied to the EEG data from the input channels on ITR and discrimination rate.
