Blue-Light Emission from Si Ion Implanted Fused-Silica Substrates Generated by High Temperature Annealing

Summary:
We observed blue-light emission from fused-silica substrates containing Si nanocrystals formed by using Si ion implantation and annealing. Photoluminescence peak wavelengths are around 400nm, and the peak intensities can be remarkable after annealing above 1150℃.
