Summary:
We demonstrate a 10Gb/s modulation-format conversion from nonreturn-to-zero to return-to-zero using pulsed-pumping optical parametric amplifier. The relationship between the gain and the output pulsewidth is investigated. Power penalty is improved by >3dB after the conversion.
