Summary:
This paper presents a novel setup to generate a RZ-DQPSK signal which employs only two modulators as compared to three modulators in conventional parallel or serial setup configurations. The robustness of RZ-DQPSK signal generated by this technique is investigated using 8x40 Gb/s WDM systems with 50GHz separation over 500km SMF.
