Summary:
In this paper, we present an initial study towards using coupled piezoelectric actuators in a tactile display. The focus is on understanding the behavior of a single actuator and its coupled behavior in a grid of actuators. We describe the model of the single actuator using FEA and numerical simulations. Next, we apply the model parameters to construct a small grid of actuators to explore the possibility of pattern formation for the haptic feedback.
