Summary:
The evaluation of unpredictability of chaotic laser outputs is important for the applications of physical random number generation. We evaluate the entropy rate of chaotic temporal waveforms generated from a semiconductor laser using (ε,τ) entropy and sample entropy in numerical simulations. We also calculate the Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy to show the validity of the entropy measurement.
