Summary:
We study the phenomenon of intermittent dynamics in semiconductor lasers subjected to optical feedback embedded in five photonic integrated circuit with different feedback delay times. We present then a method to generate sequences of random bits based on the temporal randomness ruling the alternation of successive laminar regions and bursts characteristic of intermittent dynamics.
