Terahertz Wave Oscillations in a Solid State Plasma without an Irradiation of the Laser Beams

Summary:
We present a theoretical analysis on terahertz wave oscillations in a solid state plasma in InSb without an irradiation of the laser beams. It is found by computer analysis of the dispersion equation for longitudinal waves in the solid state plasma that the maximum frequency of the terahertz waves is 3.54 THz at an electron-hole density of 5×10 18 cm-3 and a transverse magnetic field of 20 kG . In this case the wavelength of terahertz waves in the solid state plasma is 22.4 nm and the phase velocity is 0.79×10 7 cm / sec.
