Summary:
We describe the process of predicting a critical transition in a five-dimensional ecosystem by employing parameter space estimation. The parameter space estimation can render a bifurcation diagram corresponded original one only from several time-series data sets generated from a system with varying parameter values. Additionally, we approximate the Lyapunov exponent in the estimated parameter space. Consequently, we can predict the occurrence of the critical transition by the utilization of the Lyapunov exponent. In this study, we exhibit predicting results against the five-dimensional ecosystem by the parameter space estimation, notwithstanding the fact that the prediction methodology has previously predicted critical transitions for both one- and two-dimensional ecosystems.
