Summary:
This paper proposes a WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network) and LTE (Long Time Evolution) eight band antenna for potable device applications. The proposed antenna consists of a coupled-fed monopole with a distributed inductor and a directed-fed monopole with a chip inductor and a grounded strip. The low operating band from 0.67 to 1.0 GHz is obtained by the resonant modes of the grounded strip and the coupled-fed monopole. The higher modes of the proposed design create high operating band from 1.70 to 2.87 GHz. The operating frequency bands based on -6 dB of S11 can be applied in LTE700/GSM850/900/1800/1900/UMTS/LTE2300/2500 eight-band applications. The dimensions of the proposed antenna of 74 mm ~ 10 mm ~ 0.8 mm is attached to a 200 mm ~ 260 mm system ground suitable for tablet or laptop computer.
