Summary:
In the present paper, by applying only the Fourier transform method, we derive in the unified manner the time-domain (TD) asymptotic solutions for the whispering-gallery (WG) mode radiation field, the edge-surface diffracted ray (SDR), and the edge diffracted and reflected ray (EDR) comprising the transient scattered fields when the plane pulse wave is incident on one of the edges of a curved conducting surface. The validity of the TD asymptotic solutions derived here is confirmed by comparing with the reference solutions calculated numerically.
