Prof. Hiroyuki Arai
General Chair, ISAP2020

On behalf of the Steering Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to attend the 2020 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP2020) virtually in Osaka from January 25 (Monday) to 28 (Thursday), 2021. Due to the travel restrictions imposed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have to organize the ISAP2020 in Osaka as an online conference.

This Symposium, the 25th ISAP, returned back to Japan after the ISAP2016 at Okinawa. ISAP2020 is sponsored and organized by the Communications Society of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communications Engineers (IEICE), and will be held in cooperation with the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association (AMTA), the Antennas and Propagation Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE/AP-S), the Antennas Society of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (AS-CIE), the Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Communications, Information Technology Association of Thailand (ECTI), the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP), the Institute of Antenna Engineers of Taiwan, the International Union of Radio Science (URSI), the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science (KIEES), and the Taiwan Microwave Association.

The ISAP series held in Asia-Pacific region are absolutely one of major international conferences in the fields of Antennas and Propagation in the world. The main objective of ISAP2020 is to provide an international forum for the exchange of information on the progress of research and development in antennas, propagation, electromagnetic wave theory, and related fields. It is also an important objective of this meeting to promote mutual interaction among participants.

The technical program consists of four keynote speeches, invited and contributed papers. In particular, we urge you not to miss the invited presentations in the five Workshops, the Opening Ceremony, the Closing and Award Ceremony, the Organized Sessions, the Regular Sessions and the Short Presentation Sessions instead of the Poster Sessions. The On-line competitions of the ISAP2020 Student Design Contest (SDC) and the Special Sessions of the Women in Engineering (WIE) will be held for the first time in the history of ISAPs.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all the participants, financial sponsors, exhibitors, supporting organizations and all the committee members who will make ISAP2020 successful. With these strong supports, we are sure ISAP2020 will be beneficial and fruitful to all the participants.

We look forward to meeting you all during the online conference.

Prof. Hiroyuki Arai
General Chair, ISAP2020
