On behalf of the Steering Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to attend the 2016 International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation (ISAP2016) to be held at Okinawa Convention Center in Okinawa, Japan, from October 24 (Monday) through 28 (Friday), 2016.

This Symposium, the 21st ISAP, returned back to Japan after the ISAP2012 at Nagoya. ISAP2016 is sponsored and organized by the Communications Society of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communications Engineers (IEICE), and will be held in cooperation with the Antennas and Propagation Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE/AP-S), the International Union of Radio Science (URSI), the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP), Institute of Antenna Engineers of Taiwan (IAET), the Korean Institute of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science (KIEES), the Antennas Society of the Chinese Institute of Electronics (AS-CIE), the Chinese Microwave Association (CMA), the Radio Electronics Association of Vietnam (REV), the Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunication, and Information Technology Association of Thailand (ECTI, Thailand), and the European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP).

The ISAP series held in Asia-Pacific region are absolutely one of major international conferences in the fields of Antennas and Propagation in the world. The main objective of ISAP2016 is to provide an international forum for the exchange of information on the progress of research and development in antennas, propagation, electromagnetic wave theory, and related fields. It is also an important objective of this meeting to promote mutual interaction among participants.

Okinawa is located at the southern end of Japan, and is known as the island of paradise of eternal summer. You will be warmly welcomed with crystal-clear blue seas, white sand beaches, and beautiful natural scenery. Okinawa will be still warm during the symposium (24℃/75℉), and has good transportation from major cities in Japan and in the world.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all the participants, financial sponsors, exhibitors, supporting organizations and all the committee members who will make ISAP2016 successful. With these strong support, we are sure ISAP2016 will be beneficial and fruitful to all the participants, and you will enjoy Okinawa.

About the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake

April 25, 2016

As you may know, Kumamoto area of Japan, was struck by strong earthquakes on 14th and 16th April 2016. We would pray for all victims and injured people in the area and would like to express our deepest sympathy and condolences.

Okinawa is about 800 km away from Kumamoto, and has no damage and no influence at all by the earthquake. We are looking forward to seeing you at ISAP2016 in Okinawa.
