「低姿勢・円偏波・メタマテリアルアンテナの創造」
　Creation of Circularly Polarized Low profile Metamaterial Antennas

Circularly polarized (CP) antennas have been receiving considerable attention in response to recent developments in modern wireless communication systems. This seminar speech presents recent progress in three CP metamaterial antennas (metaantennas): (1) metaline antenna, (2) metaspiral antenna, and (3) metacurl antenna.
Investigation reveals that straight p-type and n-type metaline antennas exhibit right-hand CP and left-hand CP beam-scanning characteristics with change in frequency, respectively. The analysis of a bent metaline antenna finds that it can produce a CP broadside beam. The discussion of a metaspiral antenna is directed toward CP beam-scanning capability in both the azimuth and elevation planes. The exploration of a metacurl antenna finds that the antenna can be made to radiate a left-hand CP wave and a right-hand CP wave, where both have the same maximum gain.
