講演概要
本講演では，絶滅の危機に瀕している資源不足の言語をドキュメンテーション (文書化)するための言語計画に焦点を当て説明する．その中，危機言語の状況 と危機の程度を紹介するにあたって，言語ドキュメンテーションのプロジェク トや企画の役割とそれらにおいて取り上げられるタスク，言語資源の必要性及 び，特にその不足について論じる．危機言語の活性化プロジェクトのいくつか のケースを紹介し，そして活性化において地域共同体の参加の例を取り上げて 説明する．最後に言語活性化の可能性とそのシナリオ，その意義と倫理に関し ての疑問を挙げる．
Lecture Abstract
The presentation shall focus on the language-planning aspects of documenting under-resourced languages in danger of extinction. When presenting types and degrees of language endangerment situations, the lecturer intends to consider briefly the role and tasks for the language documentation projects and programs, as well as the most frequent needs and shortages in language resources. Some cases of and comments on individual revitalization scenarios will also exemplify the question of community engagement and participation in the revitalization-through-documentation curricula. At the end, several questions on the sense and ethics of some possible scenarios in language revitalization shall be posed.
