Radio Wave Propagation Loss Model in forest for Low Energy WSN

(in English) In recent years, as one of the environmental monitoring in a forest, low-energy WSN system is demanded. The network forms mesh structure, constructed with multiple number of low power sensor nodes. The determination of the node position considering radio wave propagation among nodes is important. Therefore, appropriate radio wave propagation model is essential. Although some propagation models in forest environment already exist, but these models assume a cellular system between the base station and the end terminal, which is different from mesh network condition. In this paper, a novel wave propagation model in forest is proposed based on measurement using a terminal built-in small-sized pattern antenna in practice, and the accuracy is discussed comparing the conventional models of cellular system.
