
As an annual activity of IEICE Korea section, communication, The Information Security
workshop was held at Inter-Bulgo Hotel in Daegu on February 22, 2006 together
with the 16th HSN(High Speed Network Workshop). Mr. Koji Nakao, the director of
information security at KDDI in Japan was invited to introduce the technical trends
and situation of information security in Japan. 2 researchers from a well-known
Korean institute and a professor from a domestic university were invited as speakers.

<Over 50 audiences were attended. It was a good
chance to understand the trend and necessity of information security in fast growing
communication area.>
In order to acitivate the activities in Korea section, communication,
deputy local area representative was appointed. At present the administrative
members of Korea Section, communication, are as follows.
Not only to strengthen the networking of IEICE Korean members
but also to expand the numbers of IEICE membership, some programs are planned.
