Section 1: General Provisions

Article 1
These Regulations shall stipulate items related to the editing of the Journal of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (hereinafter referred to as the "J. IEICE") as well as the IEICE Transactions (Japanese Edition) and the IEICE Transactions (hereinafter referred to collectively as "IEICE Transactions"), according to Article 6, Paragraph (a), of the Articles of Association of The Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers.

Article 2
The J. IEICE is published once each month. As a rule, the IEICE Transactions are published once each month, but the number of publications may be increased or decreased when deemed necessary.

Article 3
Each Society shall undertake editing meetings and other related activities to conduct management of income and expenses related to editing and publication, as well as publicity, sales, and any relevant improvements.

Section 2: Editorial Board

Article 4
Editorial Board shall be conducted to exchange information and conduct discussions relevant to items common to the various Societies with regard to the editing of the J. IEICE and IEICE Transactions.

Article 5
The following activities shall be undertaken at the Editorial Board:
(1)
Exchanges of information on the status of editing of the J. IEICE and IEICE Transactions
(2)
Discussions on items common to the various Societies with regard to the editing and publication of the J. IEICE and IEICE Transactions
(3)
Discussions on editing regulations, procedures, budgets related to editing and publication, problems involved in editing, etc.
(4)
Other necessary items related to editing

Article 6
Attendees of Editorial Board shall be comprised of the following persons: the Director, Publications and Director, Journal and Transactions according to Article 20 of the IEICE Regulations, the Editors of the Journal according to Article 24, Paragraph 3, of the Regulations, Editor-in-Chief, IEICE Transactions (Japanese Edition) and Editors, IEICE Transactions, and persons recommended by the various Societies. The Director, Publications shall preside over the Editorial Board.
2.
The Editors of the Journal shall be selected by the Director, Publications and the Director, Journal and Transactions, and shall be appointed by the President based on a resolution by the Board of Directors.
3.
The Director, Publications and Editors of the Journal shall assume office on the day of the annual General Assembly in May.
4.
The term of office of the Director, Publications shall be one year, and shall not exceed four consecutive terms.
5.
The term of office of the Editors of the Journal shall be two years; furthermore, the Editors of the Journal may not be reappointed.
6.
Editorial Board shall be held as deemed necessary.
