Dec. 7, 2021, Virtual Workshop

General Information

Tutorials & Student Sessions

The 2nd Thailand-Japan Student Workshop (2nd TJMW-SW) offers intensive tutorials and student sessions on state-of-the-art RF, microwave, millimeterwave and terahertz-wave theory and techniques. The workshop will be held virtually on December 7, 2021.

Abstract submission for Student session

Students are invited to present their work on RF, microwave, millimeter-wave and terahertz-wave theory and techniques. The topic includes but is not limited to:

A. Active Devices and Circuits

Low-noise devices and circuits, high-power devices and circuits, control circuits (mixers, oscillators, switches, etc.), MMICs and HMICs (receivers, transmitters, etc.), silicon RF devices

B. Passive Components

Filters and resonators, ferrite and surface wave components, packaging techniques, passive devices and circuits, waveguides, transmission lines

C. Systems

Communication systems, microwave applications (ITS, SPS, etc.), microwave medical & biological applications/EMC/EMI, phased array antenna systems

D. Fundamental theory and techniques

Scattering and propagation, electromagnetic field theory and CAD, antenna theory and designs, microwave photonics, microwave superconductivity, measurement techniques

E. Emerging Technologies

RF MEMS, active antennas, photonic bandgap and artificial metamaterials, software defined radio, wireless LAN/Bluetooth, and wireless power transfer

Authors have to submit the following information by November 15, 2021:

  1. Presenter's name
  2. All author's name
  3. Affiliations
  4. Paper title
  5. 100-word abstract
Submission site: https://forms.gle/xXvKsW6MDE6759979
(No paper submission is required.)

The student presenters will be basically assigned to oral sessions in the workshop, however if there are many presenters, poster sessions may be organized. Tentatively, each student presenter in the oral sessions will have 10-minute presentation time including questions and discussions. The finalized presentation time will be announced after the abstract submission deadline. All the submitted abstracts will be edited as abstract book.

Student Award

All student presentations will be judged by the 2nd TJMW-SW Committee, and the best presenter from each of Thai and Japanese students will be awarded the Presentation Award. Also, the second best presenter from each of Thai and Japanese students will be awarded the Encouragement Award. The winners will be honored at the end of the workshop and receive electronic certificates.
