■6. お わ り に

 脳神経科学にパラダイムシフトをもたらした無侵襲高次脳機能イメージングに関し,近赤外光トポグラフィーを中心に紹介した.無侵襲高次脳機能イメージングの発展は今後の研究開発にゆだねられている.また,その応用は現在,れい明期にあるといってもよいであろう.自然な状態で高次脳機能,すなわち私たちの心を観ることは,人間自身を知ることにつながるからである.

 本稿をまとめるにあたり,共同研究でお世話になってきた先生方(文中に記載)に厚く御礼申し上げたい.また,研究開発に共にいそしんできた(株)日立製作所基礎研究所並びに中央研究所の多くの皆様に深く感謝したい.
