TAKUICHI HIRANO received the B.S. degree in electrical and information engineering from Nagoya Institute of Technology, Nagoya, Japan, in 1998, and the M.S. and D.E. degrees in electrical and information engineering from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, in 2000 and 2008, respectively. He was an Assistant Professor with Tokyo Institute of Technology, from 2002 to 2018. He is currently an Associate Professor with Tokyo City University, Tokyo. His research interests include electromagnetic theory, numerical analysis for EM problems, and antenna engineering. Dr. Hirano was a recipient of the Young Engineer Award from the IEICE Japan in 2004, the IEEE AP-S Japan Chapter Young Engineer Award in 2004, and the IEEE MTT-S Japan Chapter Young Engineer Award in 2011.
