2004年 東京理科大学大学院、理工学研究科、電気工学専攻、修士課程修了。同年、日本電気株式会社へ入社。以来、公共向け業務用無線機の製品開発などに多数従事し、ソフトウェア無線技術、アドホックネットワーク技術、衛星通信技術など無線通信の製品開発の経験を積む。その経験をもとに2020年から現在のアドバンストネットワーク研究所に異動し、新たな規格であるBeyond 5G/6Gに関して非地上系ネットワーク技術、光無線技術などの研究開発に従事。
Kenji Wakafuji received the B.E. and M.E. degrees from Tokyo University of Science in 2002 and 2004. In the same year, he joined NEC Corporation. Since then, he has been extensively involved in the development of public commercial wireless devices, accumulating experience in software defined radio technology, ad-hoc network technology, satellite communication technology, and other wireless communication product developments. Drawing on that experience, he transferred to the current Advanced Network Research Laboratories in 2020, where he is engaged in research and development of non-terrestrial network technology and free-space optics technology for the Beyond 5G/6G.
