2002年に岐阜大学大学院工学研究科博士課程修了後、2002-2005年東北工業大学研究員、2005-2007年情報通信研究機構（NICT）専攻研究員、2007-2009年東北工業大学講師、2009-2013年東北大学電気通信研究所助教を経て、2013年にNICTに入構。現在は研究マネージャーとして、自らの研究活動とマネージメント業務に従事。2010～2012本会通信ソサイエティ短距離無線通信時限研究専門委員会幹事補佐、2013～2014本会通信ソサイエティ短距離無線通信研究専門委員会幹事補佐、2015～2017同専門委員会幹事、2018～2019同専門委員会専門委員、2020～現在 同専門委員会副委員長。電子情報通信学会、IEEE会員。
Hirokazu Sawada received the Ph.D. degree from Gifu University, Japan, in 2002. From 2002 to 2005, he was a Researcher at the Tohoku Institute of Technology, Japan. From 2005 to 2007, he was an Expert Researcher at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), Japan. From 2007 to 2009, he was a Lecturer at the Tohoku Institute of Technology. From 2009 to 2013, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Research Institute of Electrical Communications (RIEC), Tohoku University, Japan. From 2013, he is a Researcher and currently a Research Manager at the NICT, Japan. He has served as assistant (2010-2012) of IEICE Time-limited Technical Committee on Short Range Wireless Communications (SRW) and as assistant (2013-2014), secretary (2015-2017), member (2018-2019) and vice chair of IEICE Technical Committee on Short Range Wireless Communications (SRW) from 2020. He is a member of IEICE and IEEE.
