Summary:
Floating content is a novel information sharing architecture that contents are relayed among mobile terminals and float in a specific area for a flexible information sharing. However, there is a drawback that these contents vanish when there is no terminal holding the contents inside the area, which is due mainly to its ad hoc communication and sharing strategy. This happens especially when the terminal density of the sharing area is sparse or all the terminals holding the contents move outside of the area. In this paper, we propose an adaptive information sharing area adjustment method based on a terminal encounter rate within the area to address the contents vanishing problem due to its sharing nature for extending contents lifetimes.
