Summary:
Delay quality in intra-vehicle wireless communication is evaluated by using more accurate wireless models from real measurements. We have already proposed to employ IEEE802.11ad (hereafter simply 11ad) for intra-vehicle communication instead of wire-harness. Since 11ad uses 60GHz frequency band, interference and signal attenuation cause errors and retransmissions. This could result in large delay. Our previous evaluation by simulation has shown that 11ad provides enough smaller delay for mission critical applications. The evaluation, however, uses an ideal propagation model, free space propagation loss model. This paper is devoted for more accurate and practical evaluations by using measurement values as simulation parameters. Compared with the previous results, delay was increased by 22.4%.
