Summary:
We propose symbol-wise decoding of punctured convolutional codes for FSK signaling. The proposed decoder mitigates a limitation of the selection of a coding rate thanks to applying a trellis diagram concatenating two state transition intervals so that the number of input bits per branch is consistent with the puncturing period. The performance evaluation shows that the proposed system achieves both of good performance and high communication capacity.
