Summary:
Acoustic Distance Measurement(ADM) method based on the phase interference for the audible sound with 1ch or 2ch microphones is a powerful tool to measure a distance from the microphone to the target. However the ADM method sometimes estimates spurious distances due to the assumption that the reflection ratio is sufficiently small. This paper describes the fundamental effect of reflection ratio on ADM, comparing two types of ADM (i.e., 1ch and 2ch).
