Summary:
Discrete beam scanning is performed by switching primary radiators arranged around the focus of a lens antenna. However, gain drops when feeding from the end radiators. Spherically linear arrangement of primary radiators in dielectric lens antenna is proposed to realize wide beam scan angle. The simulated improvement of beam scanning performance is presented in this paper.
