Summary:
We perform a detailed bifurcation analysis of Kerr optical frequency combs generated with monolithic whispering gallery mode resonators. We use a multi-mode dynamics approach to investigate the stability of Kerr combs excited by an external laser pump. Our results enable to understand accurately the process of Kerr comb formation through a nonlinear bifurcation analysis.
