Summary:
We review our demonstration of precise passive rotational alignment of multi-core fibers (MCFs) with double-D-shape cladding. Eight MCFs were aligned on a common V-groove array with small rotational misalignments, and achieved the insertion losses (ILs) of < 0.5 dB in 16 outer cores. Also, we numerically confirmed that the rotational misalignment can be further suppressed by increasing the inner angle ?? of the V groove.
