Summary:
We have devised algorithms for navigating a mobile agent whose mission is to find the location where the physical status of the environment takes the maximum using sensor data from wireless sensor systems sparsely deployed in the environment. Our algorithms allow determining the goal location without gradients in the sensor field. Their performance is assessed in terms of the probability and time for finding the goal by numerical experiments.
