Summary:
Alternans is a kind of arrhythmia, which shows the alternation of the action potential duration (APD) or the amplitude of the action potential, and is a sign of cardiac arrest in animal experiments. In this study, we investigate the parameter dependence on the alternans using a mathematical crustacean cardiac model. We found that the conductance of the delayed potassium current for the small cell is the key to generating alternans
