Summary:
The focus of this work is the interplay between two distinct areas of dynamical systems: one is the monodromy theory of polynomial maps with complex variables; the other is the pruning front theory, a generalization of the kneading invariant for unimodal maps.We prove that the dynamics of a real polynomial map is governed by the monodromy of the same map extended to complex parameter and phase spaces, provided some hyperbolicity conditions. As an application, we identify the pruning front of the Henon map for some parameter values.
