Summary:
This paper describes a numerical method to examine stability of periodic orbits of ordinary differential equations. The multiple shooting is one of the commonly used methods for numerical stability analysis, but this method may produce incorrect results under some conditions. We focus on a certain property of solutions of equations, and propose an improved method of the multiple shooting. A numerical example shows effectiveness of the proposed method.
