Summary:
A large population of coupled nonlinear oscillators may deteriorate due to a variety of causes such as aging and accidents. As a result, it may happen that some elements turn inactive, losing spontaneous oscillatory activity. Here discussed is the behavior of such a population of coupled oscillators when the ratio of inactive elements as well as the coupling strength are varied, with an emphasis on a sort of phase transition, called aging transition.
