Summary:
Phase noise of the period-one (P1) nonlinear dynamics in a slave laser (SL) subject to injection from a master laser (ML) is analyzed via numerical simulations. The optical linewidth of the regeneration component is mainly determined by the ML linewidth, while the optical linewidth of the P1 component is dependent on both the ML and SL linewidths. The optical components in P1 dynamics are phase-correlated so that the microwave linewidth of the beat signal can be narrower than the optical linewidths, though the phase correlation degrades as the P1 oscillation frequency is tuned much beyond the relaxation resonance frequency of the laser.
