Summary:
In this paper, we propose a method for restoration from an image degraded by Poisson noise. Poisson noise is signal-dependent so that the variance of the noise changes in proportion to pixel values of the images. In the proposed method, the pixel values based division method, which was recently addressed, is first utilized to whiten Poisson noise. Then, the wavelet shrinkage is used to remove the remaining noise in the processed image. We verify the e?ectiveness of the proposed method through simulation experiments.
