Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Consumer electrical appliances are indispensable to our life. We usually operate them by remote controllers specialized for each of them, and/or switch panels on the surface of them. But there are several problems. For examples, we tend to forget where remote controllers are, or it's too much bother to go to push a switch on the surface panel of the appliance. In order to solve these problems, we propose a control interface using recognition of user's face direction and voice commands. To identify a location of the user, we require to install an omni-directional camera on an ceiling of a room. An omni camera provides the user location to each appliances. Each appliances have a camera, and always chase user's face. When a user utters a voice command, the appliance, which the user is facing to, accepts the user's command. The contract net protocol, which is one of the multi-agent cooperation protocols, is used to decide feasible target appliance. We confirmed the usefulness of this method by an experiment.
