Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Current methods of individual authentication have serious security problems of impersonation and forgery. One of the reasons is that they always asked the same question with the same answer. Protection for biometric data is also difficult. In this paper, we propose a new method for individual authentication asking plural and random questions from a database of biometric information. In particular, we use the color discrimination thresholds or the minimal distinguishable color differences which describe color perceptional characteristics. It is known that these thresholds are different for each individuals and different colors. Besides, these biometric data could only be obtained by measurement from psychophysical experiments and there are plenty of them in the color space. We measured these color biometric data, implemented the proposed method and evaluated its performance. In addition, We investigated the influence to the authentication rate by the state of fatigue and eyesight.
